The opening lyric to River Allen's full debut EP as Ghost Piss finds the multi-hyphenate artist in a different place, both literally and figuratively, than when we last listened to her step out for the defiant March 2020 single, "Beats in Bed". Expanding her DIY sound to expound upon new scenes, new feels and a new world that continues to shift into unpredictable shapes in 2021, the Blushing EP is an encapsulating statement from the Ghost Piss project that feels comforting, urgent and sardonically necessary in equal measure. From NYC to Richmond to the deep forests of Oregon, River has taken her musical alias to another level in a year unlike any other.

Featuring two new original tracks written, produced and sung by Allen in addition to a suite of electrifying remixes from Jubilee, Kareem Ali and Bergsonist, the Blushing vibe is playful yet biting with a beautiful propensity to wear its heart on its sleeve. From resigned yet empowering acceptance on "Worry" to tongue-in-cheek club observations on "Hardcore" from her time spent performing and tending bar at NYC dance venues (as well as tending the garden at The Lot Radio), Ghost Piss brings her fragility to the fore while maintaining an incisive wit for an easy "fuck you" when pushed too far (as seen on the single, "Beats in Bed").

Jubilee cranks up the intensity on a flip of "Beats in Bed" that follows her recent Miami bass and electro experiments with a muscular, synth-heavy banger primed for peak-time dance floors, while Phoenix's preeminent cosmic explorer Kareem Ali sends "Worry" to the stars for an emotional, uptempo remix that's tailor-made for the dreamers out there. Styles vet and prolific rhythm scientist Bergsonist rounds out the reworks with a percussive breakdown of "Beats in Bed" that siphons the energy of the original into a meditative, grooving trip into the early morning.

Blushing will be released as a closing ceremony to a long, hot summer on September 23, 2021 in digital and physical forms on Styles Upon Styles.
